I know….blogging two times in one morning is probably excessive, but it’s one of those mornings. You know them…everything is going along okay and then you get that phone call from school…the one that says your son is coughing and can’t seem to stop; will you please come pick him up? Yep – *that* phone call. Given, he has been coughing for a few days, but his lungs checked out as clear. The cough isn’t asthma related, and it hasn’t migrated to his lungs, but it’s there and it’s pretty persistent. I did send him to school this morning, knowing it was not an asthma attack, and no other symptoms except the cough. And then the phone call.
I get him home and get a good look at him – his eyes don’t look right. You know that sick look. Ryley shows everything with his eyes. And they’re just not right. And he felt a little warm so I took his temp – 100.5. Great. Now I’m really feeling like mother of the year material. I had sent my son to school with a cough and a fever. Awesome. Can it get any better? He’s back on the couch where he just spent the entire week two weeks ago. Now it seems he has the virus we thought he had then. AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
So who has that Mother Of The Year trophy right now? Hand it over. I think I win it this morning.
